Princess Rain and the Dragon Visit the Edgewater Boys and Girls Club in Florida

Author Helena Tauler Yates and Illustrator Wendy C. Crouch had a wonderful time presenting their story Princess Rain and the Dragon to the children of the Edgewater Boys and Girls Club in Florida on July 10, 2017. The well-received performance included children's songs and, of course, appearances from Sir Sidney Dragon and Princess Rain. The duo behind Princess Rain were happy to be able to share their story of a brave little girl who finds the courage to confront her fears with this amazing audience. They also felt privileged to have the opportunity to give back to their community by supporting this very worthy organization.

"Chasing The Dream" - A Book Signing at The Tic Toc (April 29th)

Presentation of "Mystic Fruit: A Novel of the 1960's" by Linda Straubel and " A Gal's Guide to Becoming Happily Unsingle" by Kimi Ayers

Our authors Linda Straubel and Kimi Ayers did a wonderful job presenting their books at the Tic Toc. Dr. Straubel did a reading of her book "Mystic Fruit".  Mystic Fruit is a historical novel which places three fictional characters against the back-drop of the turbulence of the 1960s coming-of-age era, which fed off its own turbulence, including perturbations of the body and of the spirit. This included protests against the Viet Nam war, racism and American materialism. Each cause spawned its own brand of protest and some, giving up on the idea of creating change in the world outside themselves, turned, instead to the idea of creating change within. Some followed the “LSD guru” Timothy Leary’s suggestion to “turn on, tune in and drop out.” As they became more and more alienated with the status quo created by their parents’ generation, and discovered the power in their sheer numbers, they struggled to change what they didn’t like including such protests as the 1968 anti-war demonstrations in Chicago, and the struggle to change themselves through such enlightenment practices as “tripping” and meditation. This was an age wherein reason and logic were abandoned by many who embraced, in their stead, passion and blind faith. Finally, this is a novel about seduction, the seduction of the body and the seduction of the spirit.

Mrs. Ayers had an engaging interactive session with our visitors on relationships, problems that occur, different thinkings and views of relationship problems and other related issues. How does a woman begin to seek an ideal partner? What does she have to look for? Kim Ayers shares answers happily with her audience in her comprehensive book created from her leadership in establishing counseling sessions for women. This book is for single women dating, struggling in a relationship, or desiring to re-direct relations into true love and happiness. Ayers covers what enables a man to fall deeply in love; the driving force behind a man’s emotional side; why a man takes a girl's number but then does not call or text; what gets a man to move forward in a relationship; how much time to spend together; romance land mines that cause new relationships to blow up; relationship quizzes; ways to get a male partner to listen to you; loser men, empty relationships, and piranhas that devour you; how to heal yourself from past relationships; how to get a man to treasure you; how to turn some troubled relationships into happy ones ; and finally letting the right man find You and chase you until you catch him. A fun and worthwhile read. Both books are available on www.TaylorAndSeale.com and on Amazon.com  . Below are the pictures from the event. Photo credit to Bob Stone.

"Nadia: Book 1: Poland" at the Jewish Community Center in Maitland, FL

Presentation of book "Nadia: Book 1: Poland" by Lois Gerber

Our author Lois Gerber presented her book "Nadia: Book 1: Poland" at the Jewish Community Center in Maitland, Florida on April 2nd at 2 pm.

Nadia is the coming-of-age story of a young Catholic girl growing up in the outskirts of Warsaw during WWII and of her personal quest to fight injustice by joining the Polish underground. She befriends a Jewish boy her parents hide in their attic, a Gypsy girl she finds in a tree in her back yard and lastly, Henryk, the boy who wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Nadia's  story is a window  to a history chronicling the Nazi occupation and the Russian invasion.  An unforgettable, compelling character who finds the courage to act and the compassion to help others by risking her own life amid the loss of almost everything and everyone dear to her, Nadia struggles to survive throughout her ordeals while seeking and hoping for a better life.   http://www.taylorandseale.com/index.php?id=634

Great time for the little ones

This Easter Egg Hunt had a great turnout! All the children had so much fun hunting for Easter eggs, riding the hay rides, seeing and taking pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, petting the little animals, riding the horses. Overall great entertainment. We are thankful for the opportunity to be there. Don't forget to gift a book this Easter - we recommend "The Easter Geese" by Nancy Mims.

An Amazing Evening and Event! - March 24th

"5 O'clock at the Tic Toc"

Book-signing at the Tic Toc

This event went beyond our expectations. We want to say a big thank you to TIC TOC ENTERPRISES for allowing us to use the fantastic 2nd floor space for this book signing. We especially want to thank the veterans Mr. John and Mr. Bill from the Veterans Museum for giving us a tour of the Museum and honoring us with their attendance. Last but not least we want to thank everyone that attended this event and the amazing authors that presented their books, as well as Ann, our wonderful store employee and the other employees from the Tic Toc that helped us tremendously in the whole event organization. This event started with an introduction by the President of Taylor and Seale Publishing, Dr. Mary Custureri which explained that this is first of many events we are putting together at this venue which is located in the heart of Daytona Beach, on the legendary Beach Street. She also introduced the other authors that attended the event and everyone got to give a short introduction about themselves. We wanted everyone to feel welcomed and to get to know each other. especially first time attendees. The author's session started with author Jeff Boyle and his book "Nam World" which was extremely amusing. The author shared his inspiration for writing this story. Second author to present was William G. Collins, author of "Murder in Pharaoh's Palace: An Egyptian Mystery" who is a historian himself and loves Egypt and ancient civilizations. The last author to present was Mario G. Fumarola, who introduced not only his amazing most recent non-fiction book "The Editor's Wastebasket" but also his other 3 books. The authors did a fantastic job presenting their books. After the presentations everyone had a chance to grab a cup of coffee and cookies, relax and get to know each other. Mr. John and Mr. Bill from the Veteran's Museum gave tours to everyone that was interested to see the museum, and explained that all exhibits are authentic and that the Museum serves a double purpose which is as an Education Center as well where children go and learn about American History. We thank them for their service!

This book is also a Christian book and a very inspirational piece of poetry.

A Night Out at The Marina View Daytona - February 17th

An Amazing Time

How did the event go? Fantastic!

We had almost fifty people at the event, and it was very successful. Many went outside and ate at the marina section after checking in with us. Six people won beautiful raffle prizes such as dance lessons, two baskets with wine and books and other goodies and two boxes of jewelry and books. Are we going to do it again? You bet. I thank the authors who were not on the presentation committee this time for coming. They are a great support. We want to thank the fantastic dancers for keeping us entertained all evening and showing us all dance moves. The authors love the camaraderie that ensued, and the authors are planning many other events together. We'll keep you posted.
